Summer Program

Each year, the Project Success program offers a 6 week, 6 credit summer program for students to work on the skills necessary for a successful first year college experience. Students, who meet all of the required high school course units to enter the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, but  whose ACT or high school GPA may not be high enough, may be conditionally admitted to the university. Upon successful completion of the summer program, students will be fully admitted for the fall semester. Although the summer program is not required for all incoming students, there are many benefits for attending including: increased campus familiarity, reading and writing preparation, familiarity with the Project Success program and staff, and becoming part of a network of peers.

Words of Encouragement from the Summer Class of 2016:

The summer program is set up to prepare students for the rigor of college courses and to give an accurate portrayal of college life. Students will be able to begin practicing how to balance coursework with social opportunities while experiencing more independence at the same time. This past summer, the Class of 2016 was asked to share inspirational quotes and thoughts to help encourage the future classes.

…Never let anyone tell you you can’t accomplish something, because you can…

In order to be good at something, you need to continue working on it…

Sometimes we have to learn to accept our failures, and understand that everyone does it at some point…

The Future can be a mystery. Even though you’ve been on one path before, you never know what might happen the next time…
